A journey of Faith: Saint Therese of the Child Jesus faithfuls give their lives to Christ

Faithfuls of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus’ parish accompany christ in his passion and death

Christians at Saint Therese of the Child Jesus Parish at Damas, Yaounde, gathered today April 3, 2026, to take part in the final Stations of the Cross of the Lenten season. The event brought together a large number of faithful who came to pray and reflect on the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.

The Stations of the Cross is a prayer journey that follows the last moments of Jesus, from when he was condemned to when he was buried. At Nkol-Guie Parish, the procession was led by priests and church members dressed in white and purple garments, symbols of prayer and penance.

The faithful walked together, stopping at different points to pray, sing, and reflect. Some carried crosses, while others followed quietly in deep meditation. Children, youth, and adults all took part, showing strong unity and faith in the community.

Good Friday is one of the most important and solemn days in the Catholic Church. It is a day of silence, prayer, and remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice for humanity. There is no mass celebrated on this day; instead, Christians focus on prayer and the Passion of Christ.

For many participants, the event was very touching. It helped them think about their lives, ask for forgiveness, and grow closer to God.

The celebration at Nkol-Guie Parish marks the end of the Lenten journey and prepares Christians for the joy of Easter Sunday, when they will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
